ECA: Economic Commission of Africa

Welcome to the ECA Committee at SCMUN 2020!

Committee topics and background guides will be updated shortly.

Established by the Economic and Social Council in 1958, the Economic Commission for Africa or ECA is one of the UN’s five regional commissions. ECA is centered on three core functions: it's convening function, its function as a think tank, and its operational function. ECA’s mandate is to promote the economic and social development of its member States, foster intra-regional integration, and promote international cooperation for Africa’s development.
