Conference Policies

Below are conference-wide policies for SCMUN 2019. All conference participants are expected to abide by the following policies. If you have any questions about these policies, feel free to email the Secretary-General at sg@scmun.org.

+ Refund Policy

Refunds on delegate and delegation fees are available depending on when the advisor first notifies our Delegate Affairs team.

Before Jan. 1st:     Full Refund of Fees

Between Jan. 1st and Mar. 9th:     50% Refund of Fees

                                              After Mar. 9th:     No Refunds

+ Plagiarism & Academic Integrity Policy

At SCMUN, we want to give each delegate a fair chance at performing well in committee. Thus, we ask that delegates adhere to the following policies to uphold the integrity of our conference:

  • No pre-written resolutions, crisis notes, or directives are allowed.
  • All position papers must be original work. Plagiarism from other delegates or research sources is unacceptable. Please ensure that your papers are properly cited.

Should any delegate be found in violation of these policies, their advisor will be notified. Serious instances of this may affect a delegate's eligibility to receive a committee award.

+ Diplomacy & Respect Policy

As with all Model United Nations conferences, delegates are expected to be diplomatic and respectful to their fellow delegates. Should chairs or members of our Secretariat feel as if delegates are violating this policy, their advisors will be notified.

Furthermore, delegates are requested to wear Western Business Attire while in committee.

+ Technology Policy

Unless otherwise indicated by your Chair, technology is not allowed during committee sessions.
