The Yihetuan Crisis
The Yihetuan Crisis exploded in 1899 when a Qing Dynasty-backed rebel force prompted an invasion of China by an international alliance of eight nations. The Yihetuan, or Righteous and Harmonious Fists, rose across Northern China after decades of colonial exploitation wherein foreign occupiers agreed to control the Chinese government and economy; especially during the Opium Wars.
The Yihetuan, though trained extensively in traditional Chinese Martial Arts, are experts in military combat, using both bladed and ranged weaponry to revolt against the eight nations assembled to continue to occupy China.
